EMC was established in 1989 and is incorporated under the laws of the state of New Jersey. Since its inception, EMC has been committed to training and educating the disadvantaged youth of our country. EMC has been a successful provider to the U.S. Department of Labor for over 15 years, as an operator of Job Corps centers, both as a prime contractor and a subcontractor. Ms. Valaida Randolph, EMC's founder, president, and primary principal, has over 30 years of experience working with agencies on the municipal, state, federal, and international levels. She, along with other management at EMC, have been involved with the development, start up, and operation of nineteen Job Corps centers over the years. EMC and its staff have also been involved in a number of other programs, including the operation of youth correctional facilities, various training services at the international level, basic academic training for the U.S. Army, and data collection and other research services provided to post-secondary academic institutions.

Today, Education Management Corporation has over 165 employees located in five states, and is a service provider as a contractor or subcontractor on five different programs.
