Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall supervision/management and development of the Academic and Career Technical Training Departments. Supervises approximately 30 staff. Provides professional direction to departmental staff in order to successfully meet contractual commitments. Evaluates staff, conducts staff training and recommends qualified staff to be hired. Provides leadership and direction of all academic and career technical training programs and activities for Academy staff and students through planning, organizing, staffing, training, scheduling and fiscal oversight to ensure a safe, efficient and effective Academy/Center.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree. Masters and state certification preferred, plus five years related experience. Three (3) years of Job Corps supervisory experience. Experienced in working with economically disadvantaged youth is preferred.
Academic Extended Day Instructor (2 open positions) at the Edison Job Corps Academy, Edison, NJ
ELL/Basic Reading/Basic Math
Provide basic language skills/literacy instruction
Teach all aspects of standard American English within a prescribed skill-based curriculum
Will prepare curricula and teach basic academic skills (reading & math)
Students 16-24 in a vocational/technical school
Bachelors Degree and NJ State Certification preferred
